Strengthened With Might

It's the Lord's Desire for You to be Gloriously Strengthened from Within

TO THE BIBLE - Ephesians 3:14-16 NKJV
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”

LET’S TALK
The portion of scripture in Ephesians 3:14-21 contains one of the most powerful and spirit-filled prayers recorded in the Bible. It reveals the deep desires of the Holy Spirit, spoken through the Apostle Paul, for the child of God. In verse 16, Paul prays that God would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in your inner man.

This is no ordinary strength. It’s divine empowerment—God’s own might—infused into your spirit. But why is this inner strength so important? Why does God focus on what’s within? Because life brings pressure from the outside: trials, temptations, discouragement, confusion, and fear. But the Spirit of God who lives in you is greater than anything you face. That’s why 1 John 4:4 NKJV declares: “You are of God,
little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

God’s answer to what’s outside you is to strengthen what’s inside you. He doesn’t start with your circumstances— He starts with your spirit. He fills you with power that no
opposition can conquer and no fear can withstand.

Look at John the Baptist. Scripture tells us that he was filled with the Holy Spirit from the womb. In Luke 1:80 NKJV, it says: “So the child grew and became strong in spirit....” This is definitely not a description of the outward man but of the inner man. And because of the life John the Baptist was going to live, the forces he was going to encounter, and the ministry God had given him, he needed to be made strong in spirit.

The same is true for you today. You’ve been called by God for a purpose. The challenges you face, the culture around you, even your seeming personal doubts—none of them are stronger than the Holy Spirit within you. That’s why the prayer in our opening scripture is just as relevant to us today as it was to the Ephesian Church. It’s God’s will that you be strengthened with might in your inner being.
